Hello lovely Mystery Yuletide Writer! I am so psyched you're going to be writing for me and please be reassured that I'm going to love my gift - I only ever request fandoms I feel super fannish about, so I'm going to be absolutely thrilled to receive a fic for them. This letter is meant in the spirit of suggestions intended to inspire; I want you to enjoy your Yuletide writing experience, so if you have an idea that doesn't match my desires exactly, please feel free to follow your heart (as long as it doesn't include any of my DNWs) and we will both have a brilliant Yuletide. <3

In general, I prefer fics written in third person and I don't mind whether it's past or present tense. I love character- and relationship-driven stories over plot-driven ones (not that I don't love a long and involved story, but I find the emotional beats in it a lot more satisfying than plot intricacies) and for Yuletide I strongly prefer happy endings, or at least hopeful/optimistic ones. I don't mind if you put the characters through hell first, but I need that to be resolved happily at the end and with enough length to enjoy the resolution.

I am happy with any rating and I love both genfic and shipfic. However, please don't break up existing canonical relationships or include non-canon pairings unless specifically requested.

Some particular things I love in fic: slice of life, found family, everyday and mundane themes combined with the extraordinary or magical, power dynamics with a positive impact on everyone involved, explicit and enthusiastic consent, slow burn attraction, loyalty kink, elaborate descriptions of scenery, competency kink ("they're so efficient and I'm so into it!"), pushing people around consensually during sex, daemon AUs, soulbond AUs, university AUs with elements of the canon world.Things I Do Not Want: focus on character death (during or after), angst without happy endings, noncon, character bashing, humour fic, a/b/o, misogynistic dirty talk, misogyny in m/m, characters described as "slutty" or "trash", humiliation kink, angsty infidelity, descriptions of hipbones, lengthy/explicit poly negotiations (poly is very fine, just no long conversations about how the poly dynamic will work please), homophobia (internalised or external), holocaust fic

화유기 | A Korean Odyssey
Requested characters: Jin Seon Mi, Son Oh Gong

This show spoke embarrassingly deeply to my id. I love stubborn, brave, kind humans and the enfant terrible immortals who fall in love with them. I love that Seon Mi has made a business out of being able to see monsters and how poised and idiosyncratic she is as an adult. The slow unfurling of Son Oh Gong and Seon Mi’s relationship was a delight and I enjoyed EVERY STEP of it, particularly once they were established as loving each other and you could see flashes of Seon Mi being as contrary and difficult as Son Oh Gong. I also loved the ensemble cast and while I have only requested Seon Mi and Son Oh Gong and would like them to be the focus of the fic, I would love for the others to make appearances too.

I was so braced for heartbreak at the end and absolutely delighted when Son Oh Gong was like WELL GUESS I’M OFF TO THE UNDERWORLD TO RECLAIM SEON MI. It was exactly the right ending note for me and I would love to see fic that takes place after the end of the show - does Son Oh Gong rescue Seon Mi? Is she reincarnated? What is her life like afterward, when she is no longer Samjang but something else new?

My ships are: Son Oh Gong/Jin Seon Mi, Jin Seon Mi/Asanyeo.

Optional prompts:

* Son Oh Gong goes to the Underworld to fetch Seon Mi. What does he have to do to get her back? What does Seon Mi think of the whole thing?

* What if Seon Mi and Asanyeo decided to work together much earlier and Asanyeo did not feel betrayed? What a force they could have been, with their powerful blood. Or what if they meet again in the Underworld?

* What if Son Oh Gong hadn’t tricked Seon Mi as a child? What if she had grown up with this contrary whimsical protector all her life? Presumably adolescence and university would’ve been pretty weird…

* What if Seon Mi is reincarnated? Does she meet Son Oh Gong again? Does she end up remembering her old life?

Dance Academy
Requested characters: Abigail Armstrong, Tara Webster

Abigail Armstrong is the perfectionist darling of my heart and I LOVE her friendship/rivalry with Tara. I loved watching her grow into herself during the show and the movie. I loved that Tara called her for help when she was trying to get back to dancing fitness in the film, and I also love each moment when Abigail realises that the thing she has fought for is not the thing which brings her joy. I thought I had reached peak joy when Abigail became Ethan’s dance muse and he choreographed just for her, but then she danced Tara’s choreo in the film and my whole entire being went AHA THIS IS WHAT I WANT. I would love fic which explores their friendship/rivalry/collaboration throughout the years (and if you want to make it femslashy then PLEASE DO but don’t erase Christian - either have him and Tara already broken up, or go for a V-shaped OT3 with Tara at the point).

I think she and Tara provide excellent foils for each other - Abigail is a high maintenance perfectionist and Tara settles much more easily into losing herself to the dance, but they both encourage each other to reach greater heights of creativity and skill. Perhaps an important note - I know fuck all about ballet, so don't feel ANY STRESS on that score. If you know stuff, I will be delighted, and if you don't and have to fake it, I will also be delighted!

I’m happy for POV to be Tara or Abigail. I also love the entire ensemble and am happy for other characters (and relationships) to appear but not be the focus. All of their canonical relationships are also fine, but I would like the fic to focus on Tara and Abigail’s relationship whether platonic or otherwise.

A small content note: I do not mind mentions of disordered eating in the fic, as I think this is often Abigail’s response to stress, but please don’t write me an Eating Disorder issuefic.

* What if they set up their own ballet company and Tara is creative director and Abigail is her principal dancer?! OR SOMETHING LIKE THIS? Do they go on tour? How are the tours? What are their lives like?

* What if Abigail and Tara got together while they were at the dance school? Do they stay together? Do they break up acrimoniously but become friends as professional adults?

* Give me basically anything after the events of the show and/or the film with Tara and Abigail. Tell me about their lives and what they do next? Does Abigail go to stay with Christian and Tara? DOES SHE DRIVE THEM CRAZY?

Killing Eve
Requested characters: Eve Polastri, Villanelle | Oksana Astankova

Oh gosh this show. I loved this show so much. I didn’t realise how desperately I needed a show with a hot bisexual psychopath and a hot bisexual secret agent (or not a secret agent) and their intense fixation with each other until I watched this show. When Villanelle returns Eve’s suitcase to her with all those exquisite clothes and that note Sorry Baby I was just like, whisper-gasping into my hands. Even though I was heartbroken over Bill’s murder! And when Villanelle BREAKS INTO EVE’S HOUSE just so she can ASK HER FOR DINNER what the hell omg

I am struggling for specific prompts with this fandom because really I want anything steeped in their mutual obsession. If you wanted to write a very tiny fix-it where Bill is stabbed but STILL ALIVE, that would be amazing, but it is also totally fine to stick with canon on this one.

The ending of series one just blew me away and I have no idea what is going to happen next but I am VERY EXCITED for it. While I generally prefer happy endings for my fics, for this particular fandom I am fine with bittersweet. Please don’t kill off either Eve or Villanelle and do feel free to include Eve’s support team - I love them and their banter.

Optional prompts:

* Villanelle is presumably no longer working for the Twelve. What does she do? Or does she continue? How do things change now she’s broken with her handler Konstantin? And most specifically how does she keep pursuing Eve after Eve stabbed her?

* Eve and Villanelle accidentally end up on holiday together - well, accidental on one of their parts and entirely intentional on the other.

* When I was watching Killing Eve, the closest comparison that sprang to mind was Hannibal, at least in terms of character dynamics. What if Eve & Villanelle and Hannibal & Will inhabited the same universe? Do their paths ever cross (in any combination of the four)? WHAT HAPPENS?

* Bill survives Villanelle’s stabbing (perhaps intentionally on Villanelle’s part). How does this change things?

Howl Series - Diana Wynne Jones
Requested characters: Sophie Hatter, Howl Pendragon

I feel this is one of my forever requests but I just LOVE DWJ’s everyday magic and humour and small grumpy kindnesses. I love how Sophie harangues Calcifer and Howl by cleaning the house and how in House of Many Ways she is just permanently like HOWL NO while Howl is going HOWL YES. I love that she grows into this powerful witch in her own right and the quiet way they grow to love each other.

I can’t actually remember if this is film or book, but when Howl turns into an unhappy slime monster I was DELIGHTED. And Sophie deals with it beautifully of course. I love her stubborn practicality and Howl’s melodrama and the fact that while Sophie seems to be often annoyed with him they also clearly love each other and work very well together as a team,

While I’m requesting the book series, I’m happy for you to incorporate canon elements from the film as well.
